The Brighton Township Police Department is located at 1300 Brighton Road in the Municipal Building.  The department consists of thirteen officers:  Chief of Police Howard Blinn, two Sergeants, two Corporals, one full time and eight
part time patrolmen.  The Department provides twenty-four hour patrol coverage with a minimum of two officers per shift.  All non-emergency calls to the department should be directed through the Emergency Services Center Dispatch in Beaver at 724-774-1789.  All emergency calls are directed to 911.

Crime Watch Program
Brighton Township’s Crime Watch Program was established in 1987.  Sergeant Pete Benedict is our Crime Watch Officer.  He and his sidekick, McGruff the Crime Dog, are available for instruction on crime prevention at any community function.  He also talks to Elementary School students each year as part of the program.  Community meetings are held periodically or whenever a specific area of crime prevention needs to be addressed.  With questions or for a visit from Sgt. Benedict and McGruff – call 724-728-1134.

House Watch
If you are going to be away from your home for a period of time, the police department will make periodic checks on your residence while you are away.  Prior to leaving, phone the department at 724-728-1134 with departure and return dates.
