The Brighton Township Sewage Authority (BTSA) is comprised of
five (5) members appointed by the Board of Supervisors to serve five (5) year terms. Meetings are held the the third Monday of the month at 6:45
PM in the Municipal Building. Please call the Authority Office
(724) 774-4802 to confirm meeting dates and times as they are subject to
change.
Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the
Municipal Building, 1300 Brighton Road. The maintenance crew works
Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and may be reached by
phone at (724) 774-4800. Please note that employees are not always
available in the garage to answer calls. Messages may be left with the administrative staff at the Municipal Building. Emergency calls after hours
or on weekends and holidays should be made to the non-emergency police
number (724) 774-1789. Calls will be forwarded to the proper contact.
When calling to report an emergency please provide the following information:

Nature of emergency.
The BTSA was created by Township Ordinance in 1975 to provide public sewer service to Brighton Township. Construction of the sewer system was started in September of 1977 and by June of 1980 was almost totally utilized. In 1983 the two (2) community sewage systems known as Brighton Township Sanitary District No. 1 (Dawson Ridge) and Brighton Township Sanitary District No. 2 (Little Beaver) officially became part of the BTSA system. Although most of the township population is served by the BTSA, there are areas of the Township where public sewage is not available. Please contact the Municipal Building about procedures for obtaining a permit for a private on-lot sewage system.
BTSA does not operate a treatment facility. All flows are treated at the Vanport Township Municipal Authority or Beaver Borough Municipal Authority treatment plants. The Authority operates eight (8) major pumping stations to serve portions of the Township that are unable to flow by gravity. BTSA owns and maintains nearly 64.5 miles of sewer lines and over 1,420 manholes.
